Nancy Uhlman's Obituary
Nancy Jane Uhlman, daughter of Jacob F. and Anna Lindsay Kincaid, was born December 11, 1924 in East Saint Louis, Illinois. She departed this life Monday, January 28, 2008 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, one month and seventeen days. On December 5, 1944, she was united in marriage to George Uhlman and to this union two children were born. Together they shared forty-five years until his passing on May 9, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Fory, Eugene, Bob and Charles Kincaid and two sisters, Binnie Summerfield and Dorothy Seibert. Survivors include her children, Linda Taylor and her husband, Keith, of Four Seasons, Missouri, and Dean Uhlman and his wife, Vicki, of Olathe, Kansas; six grandchildren, Kimberly Marie Taylor, Charles Ryan Taylor, Derek Jay Uhlman, Jacob Ryan Uhlman, Alisa Jazzlyn Uhlman and Trey Daniel Uhlman; two brothers, Bill Kincaid and Jim Kincaid; one sister, Mary Van Gels, all of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Nancy was raised in East St. Louis, Missouri and attended school there. After high school, she went to secretarial school. Once married, she and her husband moved to California while he served in the military. They later moved back to St. Louis for a time and then moved to Kansas City, Kansas, where they remained for most of their lives. She worked as a medical secretary for several doctors in the Kansas City area and retired from the KU Medical Center. In 1985, she and George retired to the Lake of the Ozarks. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of St. George Episcopal Church in Camdenton where she was active in the E.C.W. Nancy loved to stay active and was a member of many organizations. She was active in the Heart of America Boat Club in Kansas City, The Sunrise Beach Little Theatre, Ozark Lakers Square Dance Club, Westlake Newcomers and the Zack Wheat Post American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and had won many trophies and awards. She enjoyed swimming, water skiing and boating in her earlier years and most recently spent many hours reading. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008, in St. George Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 - 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to St. George Episcopal Church may be made through the funeral home.
