Nancy Zigler's Obituary
Nancy Louise King Zigler, daughter of Chester Burl and Henrietta Louise Nichols King, was born February 16, 1940, in Hollywood, California. She departed this life Monday, April 19, 2010, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, two months, and three days. Her parents preceded her in death. Nancy is survived by her son, Eric Zigler, of Glendale, California; three brothers, David King, of Kenai, Alaska, Leland King, of LaHabra, California, and Steven King, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, JoAnn Norton, of Mansfield, Texas, Carolyn Franklin, of Springfield, Missouri, and Peggy Weaver, of Rolla, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Hollywood, California, and was raised in a loving, Christian family. After graduating from high school, she continued to live in the Los Angeles area, where she was a clerical worker for Western Electric for several years. In 1984, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and began working as a caregiver to the elderly. She moved to Rolla, Missouri in 1991, and continued working as a caregiver for as long as her health allowed. She had made her home in Willard, Missouri for the last several months. Nancy obeyed the gospel at the age of fourteen, and was baptized by Bennie Cryer in Orange Cove, California. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ and attended the Rolla Church of Christ for over fifteen years. She enjoyed doing creative writing projects and had two poems published while she was in high school. She was a talented seamstress and used to make a lot of her own clothing. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing the piano and liked doing craft projects. She had a deep love for her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her son, her brothers and sisters, and their children. Nancy was a loving mother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday April 23, 2010 at the Holman- Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery near Long Lane, Missouri. Visitation is Thursday evening 7-8:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
