Nava Nadine Austin, daughter of Argus and Vina Rumfelt Austin, was born January 13, 1926 in St. George, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday evening at her home in Hartville at the age of ninety-two years, nine months, and nineteen days.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Argus and Vina Austin; her brother, William “Shorty” Austin; her sister, Famia McGee; and two nephews, Gary Austin and Gene McGee.
Nava is survived by her two nephews, Jim McGee and family and Joe McGee and family; a host of cousins, other relatives, and many caring friends.
Nava was born and raised in the Hartville area. When she was finished with school she started teaching other children and did so for several years. Nava later became a librarian and drove the book mobile around to the different school houses for forty-five years and worked for the library for over sixty years.
Nava was a member of the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church and attended as often as she could. She had a great relationship with her Lord and knew Him well. Nava was also a Sunday School teacher and she taught at several churches over the years.
Nava really enjoyed gardening, raising her flowers, fishing, and anything else that you can do outdoors. She also loved all of her nieces and nephews. Nava was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and caring friend. We celebrate her wonderful life and will always cherish the many happy memories she created.
