Neil Rogers' Obituary
Edwin Neil Rogers, son of Ralph and Violet Lee Rogers, was born November 23, 1940, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He departed this life Friday, July 28, 2006, in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, eight months, and five days. His parents, and a brother, Glen Rogers, preceded him in death. Neil is survived by two sons, Scott A. Rogers, and his fiancée, Carolyn Daniels, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Shawn D. Rogers, and his wife, Leha, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; two grandchildren, Brittany and Courtney; three brothers, Gerald Rogers, of Dafter, Michigan, Jerry Rogers, and his wife, Margarita, of Downey, California, and Dennis Rogers, of Yuba, California; five sisters, Lori Kedik, and her husband, George, of Mishawaka, Indiana, Christine Digman, and her husband, David, of Lebanon, Missouri, Rachel Wessel, of Avon, Indiana, Virginia Miller, and her husband, Rick, of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Cheryl Lee, and her husband, Bob, of Kearney, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; a special friend and caregiver, Lois Payne, of Grovespring, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas, where he graduated from high school. He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force for eight years, being honorably discharged in 1974 as a Staff Sergeant. He then made his home in Michigan for a few years before moving to California. In 1980, he moved to Missouri, and made his home in the Lebanon area. Throughout his life he worked for various different factories and had been employed by boat manufacturing companies in Lebanon until retiring. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, and working on cars. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his sons and grandchildren. He loved all children and was happiest when spending time with his grandchildren. Neil was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
