Neilus Wayne Swanigan (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Neilus Wayne Swanigan, son of the late Floyd Noble & Felcia Mae (Perkins) Swanigan, was born on November 10, 1931 in Leadmine, Missouri and departed this life on May 26, 2018 in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 86 years, 6 months and 16 days of age.
Neilus was raised in Leadmine and graduated from Tunas High School in 1949. After school he began working with his father cutting timber. He later joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in March of 1960. After his time of service, he was united in marriage to Roberta Fields and to this union two children were born, one whom survives him. Together they moved to Garden City, Missouri while he worked for General Motors Assembly Division in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a strong member of the Southern Baptist faith where he sang in the choir and was a deacon at his church. He loved to catfish and turkey hunt.
Neilus was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Roberta Ilene Swanigan; one daughter, Rowena Oliver; nine siblings, Hugh, Opal, Bill, Spencer, Drue, Gene, Esther, Wilma and Loren. He is survived by his son, Stuart (Colleen) Swanigan of Tunas, MO; one sister, Sharron (Jack) Neill of Buffalo, MO; and one grandchild, Ashley Swanigan of Hume, MO. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and family who will all truly miss him.
