Nellie Wade's Obituary
Nellie LuCreta Wade, 87 of Bolivar, MO, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Parkview Healthcare facility. LuCreta was born February 11, 1922, in Warrensburg, MO, the daughter of Thomas Harrison Miller and Nellie Marie Johnson Miller. On July 7, 1946, LuCreta was united in marriage to Ira Delton Wade in a double wedding ceremony and to this union three children were born: Sherry LuCreta Wade Gezel; Marilyn Joanne Wade Haralson Page; and Kenneth Delton Wade. LuCreta was a 1940 graduate of Nevada, MO. High School; an Airman in the Civil Air Patrol, Missouri Wing from Nevada during World War II; and served on several local community activities including a life-long member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. After retirement, LuCreta and Delton enjoyed traveling and were members of the Hillbilly Rollers RV club. They also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She became a member of the Bolivar First Christian Church and was baptized in Christ in 1961. LuCreta and Delton owned and operated Wade’s Super Market in Bolivar for several years and they were in the grocery business for 47 years. LuCreta was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her husband Ira Delton Wade, and daughter Marilyn Joanne Wade Haralson Page, and son-in law Ralph Charles Haralson. LuCreta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and John Gezel of Livingston, TX; one son-in-law, Gary Page; one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Sherrie Wade of Sand Springs, OK; sevn grandchildren, Amy Gezel and Melanie Gezel-Rangel and husband John of Minnesota; Clint Haralson and wife Lani of Bolivar, MO; Adam Haralson of Springfield, MO; Sharon Haralson Bradley of Springfield, MO; Stephen Wade and Valerie Wade of Sand Springs, OK; eight great-grandchildren Brandon Gezel, Cameron Gezel, Victoria Gezel of Minnesota; Jasper Rangel of Minnesota; Sean Haralson and Emma Haralson of Bolivar; G'ivonni Bradley and Aryanna Bradley of Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Butler Chapel in Bolivar. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar with the Rev. Neil Graham and Rev. Jerry Book officiating. Services are under the direction and care of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
