Neta Carden's Obituary
Neta Laverne Carden, daughter of Joel Albert and Mina B. Marshall Carden, was born September 29, 1922, near Phillipsburg, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, October 25, 2009, in Marshfield Care Center, in Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, and twenty-six days. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Dorothy Caffey, Bernell Caffey, Glennis Foust, Thelma Ennis, and Gladys Stout; and a special nephew, Kenneth Caffey. Neta is survived by a brother-in-law Morris Ennis, of Kansas City, Kansas; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Phillipsburg community, and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She then made her home in Kansas City, Missouri, where she was employed by the Bendix Corporation for many years. Later, she returned to the Phillipsburg area and enjoyed her retirement years. Neta was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, and was baptized at the age of eleven by Brother James Stewart. For many years she was active in the 85th and Euclid Church of Christ in Kansas City. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and particularly piecing quilts. Her family was important to her and she greatly enjoyed her nieces and nephews. Neta was a loving sister, aunt, and great-aunt, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening7-8:30 pm under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
