Neta Curl (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Neta Ruth Curl of Dunnegan, MO passed to the reward of her heavenly home on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the age of 93, surrounded by her family at Parkview Health Facility in Bolivar, MO.
She was born to Ray and Erma (Houser) Vest on September 2, 1924 in Polk County, MO. She attended grade school at Green Leaf in Huron, MO and Emma High School in Goodson, MO. She was married to Bueford Curl on June 24, 1947. They began their married life in Lamar, MO and then returned to the Curl Farm where they raised their sons, Kent and Danny. She enjoyed farm life by cooking big dinners for the farm hands during hay season, milking cows, planting big gardens and canning. She also enjoyed the time of year when the baby calves were born.
Neta accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior at an early age at Fairview Methodist Church in Huron, MO. She was a very active member of Spring Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Dunnegan, MO by teaching a Sunday School class, leading singing and even playing the piano when needed and singing in the choir until earlier this year. She was a leader in the local Women’s Ministry group at her Church, as well as at the regional level and served as an officer in many capacities over several years. Neta was a strong woman of faith and truly missed attending Church when she entered into the nursing facility.
Neta was also involved in the Missouri Extension Club. She volunteered at the Fair Play Schools while her boys attended and worked on the school yearbook. She also volunteered for the Dunnegan Rural Fire Department, by working at and cooking for the annual chicken BBQ dinners.
Neta suffered many major health issues during her time on earth; however she always remarkably bounced back. She was filled with determination to do things her way with the help of her Lord.
Neta was very proud and thankful for her family. She bragged on her grandchildren, especially her great grand children and all of their accomplishments. She cherished the times spent with family.
