Nina F. Luallin (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Nina Fay Luallin, daughter of Owen Thomas and Stella Ethelene Thurman Keenan, was born December 6, 1932, in Dallas County, near Conway, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, April 9, 2021, in Cedarhurst Senior Living in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, four months, and three days.
On December 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Warren Luallin, and to this union two daughters, Kathy and Renee, were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and eleven siblings, Pearl, Della, Becky, Dollie, Julia, Clifford, Herbie, Alfred, Calvin, Richard, and Albert.
Nina is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Bill, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Twyman, and her husband, Floyd, of Conway, Missouri, and Renee Meents, and her husband, Randy, of Greenfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Rebecca Strubbe, and her husband, Shane, Rachel Sheets, and her husband, Wayne, Leanne Cope, and her husband, Glen, David Twyman, and his wife, Amanda, Erin Amsberg, and her husband, Matthew; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lil Keenan, of Strafford, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Conway area and attended Handley School before graduating from Conway High School in the Class of 1950. She soon married the love of her life, Bill, and after Bill completed four years in the United States Air Force, they made their home on the Luallin farm, near Conway, and lovingly raised their daughters. Through the years, Nina was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 1977, they sold their dairy farm and moved to Lebanon.
Nina accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized when she was a teenager. For the last several years, she and Bill had been active members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon. She was very involved in church work, possessed a servant’s heart and found joy in serving and helping others.
She was a 4-H leader for several years, and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed preparing special meals for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with all of her grandchildren.
Nina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Funeral services for Nina Luallin will be Monday, April 12 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Lebanon, officiated by Rev. David Brown and Rev. Bradley Jemes and Rev. Elvon Bohannon. Visitation will be Sunday, April 11 from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Conway, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home and the Graceland Cemetery in Conway, Missouri and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
