Nola M. Parker (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Nola M. Parker was born December 23, 1928 in Clever, Missouri to Edwin and Effie Holder Pearce. She passed away Friday, May 9, 2025 in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehab at the age of ninety-six years, four months and seventeen days.
Nola was raised in Competition, Missouri on the family farm, during the beginning of The Great Depression. Throughout her long life, Nola experienced so many changes. She saw the introduction of electricity, telephones, vehicles, and later computers, electric automobiles and cell phones. She was a member of the “Greatest generation that ever lived.”
Nola was married to L. Glen Parker on January 29, 1946 and to this union, one daughter and four sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen, in 1996; two sons, Darrell and Paul Parker; and a granddaughter, Paula.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Ward and her husband Jerry of Grovespring, Missouri; two sons, Ronnie Parker and his wife Sunli of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Bobby Parker and his wife Barbara of Battlefield, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Pearce of Warsaw, Missouri, and Kenny Pearce of Ozark, Missouri.
After Nola and Glen were married, they lived a few years in Kansas City, Missouri before returning to the farm in Grovespring. She was employed at H.D. Lee Company for a while and they owned a dairy cow operation.
Nola loved making a home for her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother and was excited when she earned the titles of grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed cooking big dinners for special celebrations and holidays. She always had breakfast, lunch, and dinner made every day for her family. Without a doubt, Nola was a hard worker.
She loved quilting and gardening, and spending time with her family.
Nola was saved at a young age, and she and Glen were members at Gardner Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and loved her church family.
Throughout her life, Nola was known for her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love, and laughter where countless memories were created and treasured.
A memorial to McBride Cemetery has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
