Noma Louise Montgomery (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Noma Louise Montgomery age 95 passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020 in the Colonial Springs Nursing Home in Buffalo, Missouri.
Noma Louise (Scott) Montgomery was born September 24, 1924 to Oscar and Leta (Williams) Scott in Long Lane, MO. She departed this life at Colonial Springs Healthcare Center in Buffalo, MO on March 18th, 2020.
Noma was baptized at an early age and was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Buffalo. She was also an active member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship.
Noma married Harold Montgomery on May 10, 1946, and she loved him well as his devoted and supportive wife for over seventy-three years. Harold and Noma had two daughters, Jeanne (Stephens) and Suzanne (Morgans).
Throughout her life, Noma enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing with Harold, cooking, sewing and crossword puzzles. Her most treasured times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She truly made each family member feel special and loved, whether it be through spending time playing games or coloring, fixing a special request of cashew chicken or butterscotch pie, or sincere and meaningful conversation.
Noma was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Her love and dedication to her family will not be forgotten, and the family finds comfort knowing she is at peace.
Noma is survived by her husband, Harold Montgomery; daughters, Jeanne Stephens and Suzanne Morgans; son-in-law, Greg Morgans; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jesse Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Scott; mother, Leta Barclay; stepfather, Clarence Barclay; sisters, Genevieve Vandewalker and Gladys Bonner; brothers-in-law, Bill Bonner, Bill Lee Montgomery (Pauline), Glen Montgomery (Doris) and Bob Montgomery; stepbrother, Jim Barclay (Katherine); and son-in-law, David Stephens.
Private family graveside services will be at 2:30 pm Monday, March 23, 2020 in the Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Buffalo by the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the Buffalo First Christian Church Building Fund.
