Nona Wilson's Obituary
Nona Adeline Lindsay Wilson, daughter of Herbert and Ethel Crisp Young, was born July 17, 1921, in Alicia, Arkansas. She departed this life Sunday, November 13, 2011, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, three months, and twenty-six days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Earnest Harold Lindsay, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born. Mr. Lindsay preceded her in death.
Later, Nona married Evril Lavon Wilson, and to this union one son was born. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Lee Lindsay; a granddaughter, Christine; a brother, Burl; and a sister, Thelma.
Nona is survived by a daughter, Delores Jane Lindsay, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Wayne Lindsay, and his wife, Margaret, of Lebanon, Missouri, Herbert Lindsay, of Roby, Missouri, and Wallace Wilson, and his wife, Melissa, of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Julie, Jody, Bob, Scott, Rhiannon, and Ryan; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Young, of St. Louis, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Arkansas until the age of fifteen, when she moved with her family to Missouri. After she and Earnest were married, they made their home near Competition, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Nona worked as a presser at Fort Leonard Wood for several years. Later, she and Von made their home in the Lebanon area.
Nona had attended the Roby Assembly of God Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, singing, and sewing. She also liked visiting with people. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nona was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her long life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
