Norma Coghill (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Norma Lee Kubley Coghill, daughter of Russell and Sara Irene Calton Pollock, was born April 3, 1939, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She departed this life Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in Phelps County Regional Hospital, in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, six months, and three days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Donald Kubley, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
Later, Norma married Frederick L. Coghill, who passed away in the early 1990’s.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Lowery; and a nephew, Danny Pollock.
Norma is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Lewis, of Rolla, Missouri; two sons, Robert Kubley, and his wife, Carrie, and Kenneth Kubley, and his wife, Rita, all of Rolla, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Pollock, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Darrell Pollock, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Indiana, where she graduated from high school. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she met and married Donald. The family lived in various locations across the United States while Donald was serving in the U. S. Navy, but eventually settled into the Lebanon area. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and loving mother, Norma also worked as a waitress. After she and Frederick were married, they made their home in St. Charles, Missouri. She later returned to Lebanon and made her home.
Norma made her profession of faith in Christ and was an active member of Heritage Baptist Temple, where she enjoyed being a door greeter.
In her spare time she liked doing crocheting and chatting on the C.B. radio where she was known by the handle, “Butterfly”. She also liked playing Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary, as well as various types of card games. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
