Norma Jean Fite (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Norma Jean (Bakemeier) Fite of Bolivar, MO.
Norma Jean (Bakemeier) Fite was born on September 15, 1941 and went home to the arms of Jesus on March 5, 2017, at the age of 75. She was born in St. Louis County, Missouri, the daughter of Frederich and Wanda (Wells) Bakemeier. She was saved and baptized as a young girl at Central Baptist Church, Eureka, Missouri. She died at the Parkview Healthcare Center of complications from a progressive dementia disease.
She was united in marriage to Randolph Fite Jr. on August 15, 1959 at Central Baptist Church, Eureka, Missouri, and to this union were born four children: David of Rogersville, Robert of Flemington, Debbie Gamble of Bolivar and Rebecca Nall of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brother-in-Iaws, and two nephews.
She is survived by her husband, Randolph Ellis Fite Jr.; two sons and daughter-in-Iaws, David and Missy Fite of Rogersville, MO and Robert and Deborah Fite of Flemington, MO; two daughters and a son-in-law, Brad and Debbie (Fite) Gamble of Bolivar, and Rebecca (Fite) Nall of Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren: Robert Fite, Adam Fite, Eric Fite, Rachel McDonald, Mackenzie Fite, Tyler NaIl, Hannah Lange, Brittany Henson, Mandy Nall, and Jessie Gamble: two great-grandchildren: Talan Fite and Athena Fite: one step great grandchild, Andrew Myers; three sisters; Lousetta Haley of Union, MO, Clara Beinke of Eureka, MO, and Shirley Kendall of Springfield, MO; two brother-in-laws, Wilbur Beinke and Jim Kendall; one sister-in-law, Judy (Fite) Loeffel, of Englewood, FL. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their familes.
Norma was raised on a farm in rural St. Louis County, attended and graduated grade school, Crestview Junior High School, and Eureka High School in the Rockwood School District in St. Louis County. She married Randolph E. Fite Jr. on August 15, 1959 in Eureka, MO. Norma received a BS and MS from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Norma held administrative positions at Southwest Baptist University, Southeast Missouri State University and Central Methodist College Extension in Farmington, MO.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm, at Butler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9. Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 10 at Butler Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the A.L.S. Association.
