Norma J. Morrow (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Norma Jane Morrow, daughter of the late Roy Lee and Ada Hallie (Land) Hinton was born on October 25, 1922, in Slater, MO and departed this life on September 18, 2021, near Deepwater, MO. At the time of her passing she was 98 years, 10 months, and 22 days of age.
Norma attended grade school at Fairview Elementary and graduated from Slater High School. After graduation, she went to work at the International Shoe Factory for about 20 years. She was united in marriage to Harvey Richard Morrow on September 27, 1952. They made their home in Marshall, MO where she was a beautician for many years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Marshall and the Bethel Baptist Church in Pittsburg, and she enjoyed playing the piano and organ for as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed fishing, being in the outdoors, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and going on all day shopping trips with her daughter-in-law, Lolly. She also enjoyed making meals for her family, and always made sure everyone had food for their day. Norma spent many hours in her garden and in the kitchen canning her produce to give to her family at Christmas time.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband Harvey; her parents; and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Danny and wife Clara Gibson and their children, Sherry and husband Mark Eye, Carol and husband AJ Smentkowski, and Dana Gibson; son, Harvey Eugene and wife Byong Suk Morrow and their children, Bonnie Lee and husband Jason Kostiuk and Jeanne Ann and husband Forrest Kocher; son, Harold Dean & wife Charlotte Ann Morrow and their children, Heather N. Morrow and Marshal R. and wife Sarah Morrow; son, Barry and wife Lolly Morrow and their children, Clint and wife Amanda Morrow and Julie Siegler; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in the Howard Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Willie Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home in Urbana. Escorts will be friends and family in attendance. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Howard Chapel Cemetery Fund. Services are under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Urbana.
