Norma Lee Jessen (Seymour)'s Obituary
Norma Lee Jessen passed away on July 10, 2010, in Springfield, Missouri, at Cox South at the age of 72. Norma was born at Fifty Six, Arkansas, on April 13, 1938, to Carl Ward and Cubye Lynch Ward. She spent her youth in the Mountain View, Arkansas, area where she married Bobby Ray Jessen, her husband of 54 years. She was saved at the age of fifteen at the Fifty Six Missionary Baptist Church and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour, Missouri.
Norma was a devoted wife, mother, granny and community volunteer. A few of the groups that benefited from her generosity included the local volunteer fire department, the annual Fordland Easter Egg Hunt, and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed working in the yard, her volunteer work, and cooking for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, of the home; three sons, Mike Jessen and his wife, Melanie, of Eminence, Missouri, Ed Jessen and his wife, Ruby, of Diggins, Missouri, and Wayne Jessen of Mountain Grove, Missouri; one sister, Billie and her husband, Lon C. Simpson, of Midway, Arkansas; three brothers, Von Ward and his wife, Betty, Fred Ward and his wife, Joan, all of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Carol Ward and his wife, Lila, of Conway, Arkansas; she was blessed with nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kenneth Ward, who gave his life in the Korean Conflict.
We celebrate Norma’s life and her accomplishments and will cherish the precious memories she created for her family and many friends.
