Norma Myers' Obituary
Norma Jean Myers, daughter of Tribble E. and Ruth B. Boyd Davis, was born August 18, 1925, in Cash, Arkansas. She departed this life Monday, June 22, 2009, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, ten months, and four days. On November 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Ralph H. Myers, and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, on May 31, 1998; and a sister, Jimmie Ruth Cobb. Norma is survived by a daughter, Sharon Martin, and her husband, Leo, of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Michele R. White, and her husband, Rodney, of Lebanon, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Rebeka M. White and RaJeana M. White; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Cash, Arkansas, and then moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, after graduating from high school. During this time she met Ralph, while he was on leave from the military, and they soon married. Norma and Ralph made their home in St. Louis, Missouri, where during World War II, Norma worked at a munitions plant. They eventually moved to Oklahoma for a short time before making their home in Rockford, Illinois. Norma continued to live in Rockford for fifty-seven years and in addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, she also worked on a buffing wheel for the National Lock Company for several years. Eventually she retired and moved to Lebanon, Missouri, to be near her family. Norma was a member of South Highway Five Church of Christ in Lebanon, and enjoyed reading her Bible and going to church. In her spare time she liked watching television and was a fan of the Little House On The Prairie series. She also enjoyed reading and listening to music, especially country music. Her family was very important to her and she greatly enjoyed her granddaughter and great-granddaughters. Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will treasure the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services & burial will be held on Friday June 26, 2009 at Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday evening 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Home in Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to the Fair Haven Childrens home.
