Norma J Stephens (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Norma Jean Stephens, daughter of Frank and Mary Hungate Esry, was born May 29, 1930 in Boone County, Iowa and departed this life of September 4, 2012 in Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri at the age of eighty years, three months and five days.
She was united in marriage to Bobby Eugene Stephens on March 16, 1966 and he preceded her in death February 20, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lee Hyte of Mansfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Jarrett Nichols and Jimmy Nichols both of Mansfield, Missouri; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Peggy Anderson and her husband Don of Mansfield, Missouri, Bonita Call and her husband Charley of Reed Springs, Missouri and Phyllis Sliffe of Portland, Oregon as well as several nieces and nephews.
Norma was born in Iowa and moved with her family to Mansfield where she graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1949. After graduating she entered the United States Air Force and faithfully served our country where she worked as a photography assistant. After returning to Mansfield she worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory for many years before retiring.
Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We will always remember the wonderful times we had with her.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 7, 2012 in Holman-Howe Chapel, Mansfield. Military honors will be immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date in the Mansfield Cemetery
