Norma L. Woosley (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Norma Lee Woosley, daughter of Alva and Edna Richardson Agee, was born August 21, 1934, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, April 19, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, seven months and twenty-nine days.
On July 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to John L. Woosley, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, on December 31, 2016; a sister, Betty Tannahill; and a brother-in-law, Bill Adams.
Norma is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Wood, and her husband, Steve, and Pamela Kelley, and her husband, Scott, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jason Chastain and his wife Heather, Derick Chastain, and Tyler Chastain and his wife Amy, Stacie Smith, and Alex Wood and his wife Kaytee; six great-grandchildren, Ty, Addy, Preslea, Korbin, Garrison, and Kinley; a brother, Don Agee, of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Frances Adams, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Floyd Tannahill, of the State of Kansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1952. After she and John were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their daughters. Norma was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She began her career at Detroit Tool Engineering Company then worked at United Telephone Company. Later she and her husband John owned John’s Printing Company for several years.
Norma made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She possessed a very concerned heart and was always willing to help others.
She greatly enjoyed fishing in her spare time and visited friends in the care centers. Her family and her church were the center of her life and she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A memorial has been established to Hillcrest Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
