Norma L. West (Lebanon) 's Obituary
Norma Lou West, daughter of Lonnie and Esther McDowell Osborn, was born December 28, 1933, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, November 23, 2013, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, ten months, and twenty-five days.
On December 29, 1951, she was united in marriage to Arthur Allen “Jack” West, and they shared fifty-seven happy years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack, on May 7, 2008; a son, Ricky West; four brothers, Donald, Thomas Leonard, Ralph, and Jerry; a sister, June; and two sisters-in-law, Wilma Dean and Betty.
Norma is survived by a son, Roger West; a daughter-in-law, Carmen West, of Lebanon, Missouri; three granddaughters, Brandy Jones, and her husband, Jason, of Lebanon, Missouri, Angie West, and her fiancé, Joe Dickinson, of Stoutland, Missouri, and Chrissy Bethel, and her husband, Troy, of Richland, Missouri; four great-granddaughters, Tia, Marissa, Kenlie, and Abbie; five great-grandsons, Jase, Joey, Jesse, Tyler, and Christopher; five brothers, Danny Osborn, and his wife, Bonnie, of Lebanon, Missouri, Darrell Osborn, and his wife, Sheryl, of Nixa, Missouri, Glen Osborn, and his wife, Shirley, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Ray Osborn, and his wife, Wanda, of Bolivar, Missouri, and Martin Osborn, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Jean Osborn, of North Kansas City, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; two special friends that were like Norma’s great-grandchildren, Josh Dykstra, and Kimberly Jemes, and her children, Rylee and Axton; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Lebanon and then raised in the Sleeper community. After she and Jack were married, they made their home near Sleeper, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Norma worked at H. D. Lee Company, Hughes Senior Center, Stoutland Senior Center, and at the Alloway Store in Sleeper, Missouri.
Norma had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Sleeper Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed her church family and all the activities there.
She liked reading, crocheting, sewing and doing embroidery in her spare time. She was always proud of her children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
