Okemah Walter's Obituary
Okemah Belle “Betty” Walter, age 84, of Morrisville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri after a chronic illness. She was born May 2, 1925 in Calera, Oklahoma to James Duke and Maye Hutchins Duke. She married Charles Walter on January 27, 1953 in Paragould, Arkansas. Most of her life she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her brother, Trenton Duke and a sister, Lawanda Thompson. Betty is survived by her husband, Charles Walter of the home, a son, Leon Riccardi of St. Charles, Missouri, a grandson, Darrell Riccardi of Rolla, Missouri, and a half-brother, Robert Keith of Springfield, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Rev. Clifford Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow at the Slagle Cemetery just south of Bolivar, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3-5pm, Sunday, July 5, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
