Okla Stewart's Obituary
Okla Marie Stewart, age 96, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away at 1:15pm, Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Citizen’s Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri after a long illness. She was born December 15, 1912 in Polk, Missouri to Lon C. Hawkins and Myrtle Whaley Hawkins. Okla married Oles C. Stewart on February 17, 1928 in Polk, Missouri. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed quilting whenever possible. She loved her family and enjoyed them whenever they would come to see her. She was a member of the Halfway Missionary Baptist Church in Halfway, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oles C. Stewart on July 8, 1995, two brothers, Eldon Hawkins, Cleo Hawkins, and two grandsons, Dale Stewart and Wendell Stewart. Okla is survived by her son, Estal Stewart and his wife Bonnie of Bolivar, Missouri, three daughters, Imogene Morris of Brighton, Missouri, Nadean Ashlock and her husband Derrell of Bolivar, Missouri, Shirley Brown of Dunnegan, Missouri, 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Bro. Ron Erven officiating. The obituary will be read by Chuck Brown and a poem will be read by Kristen Ashlock. Musical selections will be “Amazing Grace”, “Praise God He’s Still Living” and “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow” by Dan McKnight and Andrew McKnight. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ashlock, Wayne Ashlock, Lendell Stewart, Leslie Morris, Chuck Brown and Jason Doke. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Bolivar under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Visitation will be from 6-7pm, Saturday evening, May 23, 2009 at Funeral Home. The family suggests contributions to the Citizen’s Memorial Hospice Program, 1500 N.
