Ona Harding (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ona Faye Harding, daughter of Burt and Pearlie Mae Appleberry Pulley, was born November 19, 1940, near Hooker Township, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, June 13, 2015, in her home, in Conway, Missouri, at the age seventy-four years, six months, and twenty-five days.
On October 22, 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Jesse James Harding, and they shared the last thirty-two years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Raymond Carney; a daughter Pearley Fink; and a granddaughter, Leslie Branch.
Ona is survived by her husband, Jesse, of the home; four daughters, Joyce Scrivner, and her husband, Mike, of Lebanon, Missouri, Donna Harding, Peggy Harding, both of the State of Virginia, and Sheri Harding, of Kansas City, Kansas; a son, Richard Pope, of Stoutland, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Kimmy, Ernie, Matthew, Jack, Stephen, Richard, Amber, Jordan, and Justin; seventeen great-grandchildren, Adalena, Tyson, Kolton, Donivan, Tret, Bryce, Harley, Trinity, Natalie, Skylee, Ashley, K. K., Tyler, Henry, Landon, Kylie, and Sadie; a son-in-law, Jack Fink, of Elkland, Missouri; a sister, Louise Cornett, of Buffalo, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri. She was a devoted homemaker to her family and also worked as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant for a few years. In 1992, she and Jesse moved to Conway, Missouri, and made their home. Ona had also taken good care of her mother, father, and granddaughter during their illnesses.
Ona had made her profession of faith in Christ and attended Fellowship Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to casinos, where she liked playing the slot machines, and particularly the Double Diamond machine. She also enjoyed rock hunting in the creek, shopping at Wal Mart, and going on vacation with Jesse. She was a very loving person who cared deeply for others. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Ona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she had created for them during her seventy-four years.
