Opal Mae (Williams) Roberts' Obituary
Opal Mae Williams Roberts, daughter of John and Nola Jones Marcum, was born January 30, 1925, in Brookline, Missouri. She departed this life, Friday, October 20, 2006, due to injuries from an automobile accident, at the age of eighty-one years, eight months, and twenty-days. Early in life, she was married to Lester C. Williams, who preceded her in death in November of 1988. She was later married to Harold Roberts, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Dale and Don, and an infant sister. Opal is survived by her children; Donnetta Bowling, and her husband, Mike, Diana Williams, and her husband, Jerry, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Debbie Hollandsworth, and her husband, Steve, of Linn Creek, Missouri; Dencil Williams, and his wife, Leava, and Dale Williams, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Rev. Ronnie Williams, and his wife, Janice, of Russellville, Arkansas, Tommy Marcum, and his wife, Mary, of Alton, Missouri, Doug Williams, and his wife, Mary, of Eldridge, Missouri, Danny Williams, and his wife, Sally, of Platte City, Missouri, and Darren Williams, and his wife, Tina, of Eldridge, Missouri; one sister, Mary White, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in Brookline, Missouri, but spent most of her life in the Lebanon area. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for a time at the Rice-Stix and H.D. Lee companies. Opal had professed her faith, and was an active member of the Grace Calvary Church. She loved flowers of all kinds, and devoted many enjoyable hours growing them in her flower beds. Her family was very important to her and she always wanted to be connected with them and their lives. Opal and her sister, Mary, were very close and enjoyed visiting with each other. Opal was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the O'Dell Cemetery, near Grovespring. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Alzheimers Foundation may be made through the funeral home.
