Opal Evelyn Robertson (Seymour)'s Obituary
Opal Evelyn Robertson was born February 15, 1931, in Weslaco, Texas, to Raymond F. and Mildred R. (Black) Ford. She peacefully departed this earthly life for Heaven the evening of April 22, 2020, with family by her side at Mountain View Health Care Center in Mountain View, Missouri. She was 89 years wise.
Opal wed Jesse Burt Robertson on May 27, 1966. They established a farm in Mountain View shortly after marrying where they farmed and raised Herefords, hogs and a menagerie of other animals. They relocated to Seymour, Missouri, in 2009, after a devastating tornado destroyed their homestead. Opal was a woman of strong faith and attended the Nazarene Church of Seymour until her health would not allow. After forty-eight wonderful years, Jesse preceded her in death on January 30, 2015. Opal was also preceded in death by brother-in-law, Robert E. Robertson and his wife, Dorothy, brother-in-law, Robert E. Love, sister-in-law, Anna Marie Roberts, and nephew, Kevin Robertson. Opal leaves behind a dear sister-in-law, Margaret Love; a loving family of nieces and nephews who were like her and Jesse’s own children; Debbie Roberts, Patrick Roberts, Dennis Roberts, Steven and Karen Robertson, Douglas Robertson, David and Christy Robertson, Pamela and Gary Knock, Linda and Marty Miller, Sandra and Willie Taylor, Margaret Robertson, Ginger Vogt, Dan Watkins, and Shirley Griffen; many great-nieces and great-nephews; dear friend, Leonard Matney, who helped Opal remain independent and in her home for the last several years; and many more special friends, church family and neighbors. A Celebration of Life Service has been planned for Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 10:00 AM, at Seymour Nazarene Church in Seymour, Missouri, with Reverend Mark Terrill officiating. Opal has been laid to rest next to her husband, Jesse, in Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View, Missouri.
