Oren W McCaslin (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Oren W. McCaslin, son of the late August S. and Elsie (Owens) McCaslin, was born on November 7, 1937 in Buffalo, MO, and departed this life on September 3, 2022 at his home in Phillipsburg, MO surrounded by his family. At the time of his passing he was 84 years, nine months, and 25 days of age.
Oren went to the Engle School through the 8th grade. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 in 1955. He was united in marriage to Donna Sue Elsea on August 4, 1956. Oren and Donna opened an antique business in Phillipsburg before moving to New York in the 80’s. They moved back to Phillipsburg in 2007 and continued their antique business until retiring in 2015.
Oren was preceded in death by his wife, Donna McCaslin; his parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Mathews and Shirley Weeks; one brother-in-law, Chester Mathews; one son-in-law, Ron Harris; one granddaughter, Cassie Armstrong; and one grandson, Jason Bagley. He is survived by three sons, Greg and wife Dewanna Armstrong of Buffalo, MO, Zachary and wife Darlene McCaslin of Phillipsburg, MO, and Zane and wife Alison McCaslin of Phillipsburg, MO; two daughters, Tammy McCaslin of Warsaw, MO and Regina Harris of Conway, MO; one brother, Carl and wife Patty Quisenberry of Buffalo, MO; 13 grandchildren, Kelly, Dusty, Jerome, Jacob, Angela, Darrell, Tashina, Zachariah, Sarah, Kerrigan, Robert, Mason, and Cooper; and 21 great-grandchildren, Dayton, Darby, Dakota, Addie, Hunter, Riley, Nick, Kendall, Easton, Joe, Izabelle, Charlie, Trevor, Kennedy, Maddie, Zylynn, Braxton, Jackson, Elias, Axelle, and Lydia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Dusty Armstrong officiating. Escorts will be Darrell Keil, Jerome Bagley, Jake Bagley, Hunter Bagley, Riley Bagley, and Dayton Armstrong. Honorary escort will be Mason McCaslin. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Macedonia Cemetery Fund.
