Orin Lemons' Obituary
On Sunday, December 19, 2011, Orin Dee Lemons, beloved husband, father, “Pa”, uncle, and brother departed this world to be with his Lord Jesus. Although, he will be sadly missed, we rejoice in the truth that he lives and we will someday be with him again. Born August 27, 1934 to Elmer Ernest Lemons and Gertie Izetta Davidson Lemons, near Hartville, Missouri, Orin lived for seventy-seven years, three months, and twenty-four days.
Orin was born and raised in the Little Creek area, attending, both the Little Creek and the number three school. He then went on to faithfully serve his country in the United States Army. During his stay at Ft. Hood, Texas he married his childhood friend, Ruby Mae Delcour on October 4, 1957, and to this union two children were born.
Following his discharge from the service, Orin and Ruby returned to the Hartville area, purchased a farm, and together they raised their family. Taking care of the livestock, milking, and tending his land Orin found favor in his hard work. He passed this hard work ethic on to his family, and shared the simple joys with his friends. Riding his four-wheeler around the farm, coon hunting, or visiting with friends at the restaurant, Orin enjoyed the blessings God had given him. His biggest blessing was the gift of song. Orin dedicated his life to the Lord Jesus at an early age, and actively served his church family. He attended the Hartville Freewill Baptist Church and shared his voice in the Hartville/Grovespring area.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Ancil, Otis, and Darrell Lemons; and his sisters Mae Todd and Dorothy Johnson.
Orin is survived by his loving wife Ruby, of the home; his daughter Debbie Farr and husband Winston, of Hartville, Missouri; his son Mike Lemons and wife Wendy, of Grovespring, Missouri; his grandchildren Natalie Dummermuth and husband David, of Lenexa, Kansas, Morgan and Keegan Lemons, of Hartville, Missouri; his great-granddaughter Paige Dummermuth, of Lenexa, Kansas; and a greatly anticipated 2nd great-grandchild; his sisters Retha Sanders and Jessie Kelsay, both of Hartville, Missouri; his brother-in-law Eddie Delcour and Katrina; his sisters-in-law Violet Cross and husband John, and Shirley McBride and husband Gene, all of Hartville, Missouri; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Faith and family was the heart of Orin Dee Lemons, his children and grandchildren, family and friends have a wonderful legacy to carry on. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he created for us all.
