Orval Smith's Obituary
Orval Earnest Smith, son of Earnest Oral and Gladys Pearl (Pleasant) Smith was born June 2, 1931 in Broseley, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, nine months, and twenty-two days.
On October 15, 1966 he was united in marriage to Roberta J. Bugg and together they shared thirty-two years before her passing on September 25, 1998.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jim, Jerry and Larry Smith; and one sister, Charlene Dockwaler. Orval is survived by his daughter, Debbie Garrett and her fiancé, Steve Miller, of Seymour, Missouri; three granddaughters, Rhonda Willbanks and her husband, Mark, of Marshfield, Missouri, Jacki Storm, of Springfield, Missouri, and Pam Feldhaus, of Seymour, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Isaac, Allie, Chloe, and Maxine; ten nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and many friends.
He grew up in Broseley, Missouri and moved to Michigan early in his life. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He owned and operated a hardwood flooring company for many years, and had worked in the lead mines in Bunker, Missouri for fifteen years.
He liked doing mechanic work and loved to tinker with old cars, and collected all kinds of guns. As he requested, he was cremated and services will be at a later date.
