Orville Wipperma (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Orville Wipperman , son of Orville and Ethel Wipperman, was born on April 1, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life on January 5, 2012 at his home in Bradenton, Florida at the age of 87 years of age.
Orville and his beloved wife Doris were united in Marriage on December 22, 1945 , into this union four Children were born.
He is Preceded in death by his wife Doris Wipperman , his parents, and one brother.
Survivors include his four children, Bill Wipperman and wife Marcie of Bradenton, Florida, Dyanna Hurley and husband Red (deceased) of Banning California, Leonard Wipperman and wife Susan of McMinnville, Oregon and Kathryn Mumaw and husband Chris of Anaheim, California. He is also survived by his Brothers Lloyd and Carl Wipperman and one sister Bessie Ryan, 10 Grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was raised in Kansas City, Missouri for most of his life. As a young man Orville participated in the sport of Boxing and became a featherweight Golden Gove Champion, also continuing his dreams of becoming a Country Western entertainer throughout his life, performing all across the country.
Orville was a heroic veteran of WWII, including the landing at Normandy Beach. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and awarded the Bronze Star for valor. He also served his country a second time in the Korean Conflict.
In 1961 Orville moved his family to sunny California where they prospered until returning to Camdenton to own and run the Rock Ledge Court Resort. Orville served his community as Chief of Police for Camdenton and later in Windsor, Mo. , where he then retired. In 2002 Orville and Doris retired to Bradenton, Florida where they enjoyed life with they’re family and friends. Orville continued to sing and play the music that he loved.
