Otie Meads' Obituary
Otie Cyrus Clark Meads, daughter of Oscar Everet and Margaret Catherine Mosier Cyrus, was born September 26, 1915 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life, Friday, February 9, 2007 in Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-one years, four months and fourteen days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and father of her children, Ousley Clark; husband Wiley Meads; a daughter, Maggie Gregory; an infant son, Kenneth; five brothers, Edward, Roy, Elbert, Glenn and Jessie Cyrus and four sisters, Etta Evans, Mabel Webster, Bonnie White and infant, Gracie Cyrus. Survivors include a son, Kilmer Clark and wife Roetta of Independence, Missouri; a daughter, Eveline Caviness and husband Ralph of Camdenton, Missouri; son-in-law, Junior Gregory of Camdenton, Missouri; five grandchildren, Al and Beth Jones of Linn Creek, Missouri, Junior and Vicki Hopkins of Buckner, Missouri, R.C. and Deborah Caviness of Houston, Texas, Mike and Kristi Clark of Princeton, Texas and Curtis and Linda Gregory of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Otie was raised and lived all of her life in the Camdenton, Missouri area. She was a homemaker and worked for many years at Clean Cleaners. She served as treasurer for Pleasant Hill Cemetery for sixty years. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and sewing and had made many beautiful dolls. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Otie was a loving mother, grandma, aunt and cousin to all of her family. We loved her and she loved us. She had many friends and will be missed by all. She left so many memories and lesson they are too numerous to count. We were blessed by her presence. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2007, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Memorials to Pleasant Hill Cemetery may be made through the funeral home.
