Pamela J. Ellis' Obituary
Pamela Jean “Pam” Ellis, daughter of Jonah “Joe” and Barbara Pope, was born May 6, 1955 in Independence, Missouri. She passed away, surrounded by her family and friends, Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in her home in Excelsior Springs, Missouri at the age of fifty-one years, two months and twelve days. She had courageously battled COPD and Multiple Sclerosis for ten years. On June 27, 1987 in Smithville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to James E. “Jim” Ellis. Her parents and a brother, Lawrence J. Pope preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Jim; a sister, Virginia Sands; a son, Tommy Swearingin and wife Judy; four step-children, Chris Ellis, Sabrina Ellis, Eric Ellis and Bradley Ellis; two brothers-in-law, Duke Sands and Robert Ellis; two sisters-in-law, Helen England and Margaret Russell; three grandchildren, Adam, Caelynne and Connor Swearingin; four step-grandchildren Christina, J.D. (James Dalton), Danielle and Lee Ellis, and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Pam had been an Executive Secretary for Harts Mountain for sixteen years. She was also a caregiver to her mother-in-law, Lorraine Ellis for six years and then her father, Joe Pope for five years. Pam never refused anyone who had a problem and always went out of her way to help in any way she could. In her spare time she enjoyed garage sales and Elvis Presley music. Her grandchildren, family and friends were most important to her. Pam was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her. She will be missed by all. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, in Climax Springs Cemetery.Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 - 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
