Pansy Boyce (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Pansy Fern Boyce, daughter of Baxter Ola and Myrtle Holliman Wampler, was born May 2, 1923, at Odin, Missouri, and departed this life on October 28, 2010, in her home in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, five months and twenty-six days.
She was united in marriage in 1943 to Ray E. Boyce and to this union one son, James Robert Boyce was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Robert, in 1998; and two brothers, Clinton Waldo Wampler and Edwin Geraldene Wampler.
Pansy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Boyce of Alpharetta, Georgia; one granddaughter, Pamela Lynn (Boyce) Allen and her husband Stewart of Cumming, Georgia; one grandson, Richard Lynn Boyce and his wife Maria of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; two great-granddaughters, Erica Wells of Coatesville, Pennsylvania and Ashley Allen of Cumming, Georgia; one great-grandson, Derek James Allen of Cumming, Georgia; and other relatives and friends.
Pansy graduated from Hartville High School in the Class of 1941. After graduating, she went to work for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, from 1943 until 1945. She later worked for McDonald Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1951 until 1954 before moving to Mansfield. Pansy went to work at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield in 1955 and retired from there in 1988.
Pansy became a Christian in 1938 and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and later moved her membership to the Mansfield First Baptist Church.
Pansy loved working outdoors and went on many, many two mile walks.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
