Pansy Russell (Hartville)'s Obituary
Pansy Fern Russell, daughter of Barney Arthur and Sarah Retha Cantrell Whittaker, was born September 13, 1924 in Niangua, Missouri.
She departed this life Saturday, March 12, 2016 in Webco Manor, Marshfield, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one years, five months, and twenty-eight days.
On September 15, 1940, Pansy was united in marriage to Harry Wilburn
Russell and to this union three children were born.
Pansy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry, on April
20, 1992; a great-grandson, Daniel; and her brothers, Donald Whittaker, Truman
Eaton, Billy Cantrell, and Barney Whittaker.
She is survived by her children, Bettie Cook and husband Earl, of Niangua,
Missouri, Ted Russell and wife Janet, of Hartville, Missouri, and Patty Larsen and
husband Pete, of Lebanon, Missouri; her grandchildren, Nancy, Sally, Cindy,
Robby, Gayle, Chris, Paula, Julie, Teresa, and Chris; twenty-three great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Pansy was born in Niangua and attended Rogers and Washington Schools before attending Hartville High School. She lived most of her life in the Grovespring and Hartville areas. Pansy was a devoted wife and homemaker and faithfully worked with her husband on the family farm for many years.
She attended Sunshine Church for many years and was baptized there when she was in her fifties. Pansy was an avid gardener and loved to cook, especially for her family and friends.
Pansy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and many accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
