Pastor Loren L Heisz (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Loren Louie Heisz, son of Harvey and Ruth Colson Heisz, was born March 12, 1946, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He departed this life Friday, June 5, 2015, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, two months, and twenty-four days.
On June 10, 1967, he was united in marriage to Marylou Sheridan, and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.
His parents preceded him in death.
Loren is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Marylou, of the home; three sons, Lance Heisz, and his wife, Kim, of Lebanon, Missouri, Lee Heisz, and his wife, Carol, of Portage, Wisconsin, and Lowell Heisz, and his wife, Victoria, of Montello, Wisconsin; a daughter Lisa Dedrick, and her husband, Jaret, of Portage, Wisconsin; twelve grandchildren, Cheyenne, Logan, Gage, Colt, Ryder, Jordan, Cameron, Lucas, Trinity, Destiny, Elise, and Emma; a brother, Mark Heisz, and his wife, Theresa, of Portage, Wisconsin; a sister, Joan Roberts, and her husband, Woodrow, of Boscobel, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in the Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin area and graduated from Seneca High School, in Seneca, Wisconsin. He then graduated from Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan, Canada. He pastored small, rural churches that could not support a full time pastor, and worked in construction to support his family for thirty-five years. He had pastored churches in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Missouri. After moving to Lebanon, Missouri, he pastored Emmanuel Chapel Bible Church and also drove a school bus for the Lebanon R-III Schools for eleven years.
Loren was a member of Independent Fundamental Churches International, and had served as secretary/treasurer for the Ozark Regional I.F.C.A. for twelve years. He had also served as a board member for Woodland Acres Bible Camp.
He genuinely loved people, and shared his love for Christ with everyone he met. He greatly loved preaching. His friends knew he would drop everything and go to their aid, and he gave willingly to all who asked. In his spare time he enjoyed building things, fishing and hunting, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his “woman”, who he loved unconditionally. His children were his pride and joy and his twelve grandchildren were very precious to him.
Loren was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He gave his life in service to the Lord whom he loved and was eager to see face to face.
Memorial donations to Woodland Acres Bible Camp may be made through the funeral home.
