Pastor Dean Rooffener (Camdenton)'s Obituary
K. Dean Rooffener, son of Roy and Flossie (Eidson) Rooffener, was born June 20, 1940 and went home to be with Jesus, October 5, 2012 at his home in Camdenton, surrounded by his family.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene Rooffener; sister, Allene Shipman; nephew, Mike Marshall; great nephew, Caleb Colmenares and mother-in-law, Hazel Layman.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two and a half years, Glenna Layman Rooffener of the home; his children, Rowland and Carmen Rooffener Todd, Terry and Stacy Rooffener Stoll, Nathan and Xu Zhang Rooffener; his grandchildren, Caleb and Jennifer Stoll, Megan Todd, Derek and Brittany Walters, Tancy Rooffener and Tyerra Rooffener; sister-in-law, Shirley Rooffener; a brother-in-law, Gilbert Shipman; loving nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Kenneth Layman; his Layman sisters and brothers, Sandra Layman, Tom and Beverly Parton, Cliff and Marilyn Waterman, and many friends. Special friends include, Jerry Marshall, Brad Johnston, Connie Lee Jones, Mike Osborn, Danny Hill and Jeana Laughlin. Dean’s church family at Decaturville Missionary Baptist Church, the staff at Lake Regional Cancer Center, and especially Christian Hospice and his special nurse Kristin Brent.
At the age of twenty-three, Dean was called by God to serve him as a Minister, he was ordained two years later and served as a Pastor for the rest of his life. Giving God his very best was his daily life, during almost fifty years, he was blessed to have been able to Baptize hundreds of saved souls, to have Preached the Bible at Memorials, and to have performed over four hundred Weddings. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all that loved him.
