Patricia Ballenger (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Patricia Ellen Ballenger, daughter of Harvey and Betty Gourley Reynolds, was born October 5, 1949, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, July 1, 2010, in the Barton County Hospital, in Lamar, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, eight months, and twenty-six days.
She was preceded in death by her mother; a brother, Steve Reynolds; and a sister, Wanda Vaughn.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Vernon Ballenger, of Nevada, Missouri; a son, Matt Ballenger, of Nevada, Missouri; two grandsons, Matthew Lee and Dustin Allen Ballenger; three brothers, Pete Pulliam, of Lebanon, Missouri, Larry and Gary Reynolds, of out of state; three sisters, Deana Yokley, of Springfield, Missouri, Janet Sullivan, of the State of Louisiana, and Linda Reynolds, of out of state; her father, David Pulliam, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Lebanon, Missouri and in Wisconsin, and then lived in Marshall, Missouri, and later Rockaway Beach, Missouri. For the last eight years, she had made her home in Nevada, Missouri. Throughout the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her family.
Patricia had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Pentecostal faith. She had been a part of several churches including the United Pentecostal Church in Nevada, Missouri. She possessed a deep and abiding faith in God, and was a woman of prayer, having prayed for many, people in her lifetime.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and doing needlepoint projects. She was a wonderful cook and baker and liked preparing special recipes for her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to garage sales and auctions. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed time with her two grandsons that lovingly referred to her as “Nana”.
We celebrate Patricia’s life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
