Patricia Ann Boyd (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Patricia Ann Boyd, age 90, departed this life on October 11, 2023, at Citizens Memorial Hospital. She was Born to Abner “Abby” Marks and Nell (Griffitts) Marks Loven on June 19, 1933, in Springfield, Missouri.
She was saved and baptized at a young age at Brighton Baptist Church and was a member of Sonrise Community Church in Pleasant Hope.
Our mother lived a full life before having 3 children and settling down in Van Town, Missouri, on her beloved farm. She was a strong woman, raising her children on her own, and provided well for us. Our mother had many roles over her lifetime. Some of them include nursing, a flight attendant, and later retiring from the Division of Family Services in Bolivar. Above all, she was a most loving mother that would do anything for her children. Sadly, she suffered a terrible loss of her first born, Joe, in 1990. She never stopped missing him.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Abby and Nell, one sister, Dorothy Visio, and her beloved son, Joe Boyd.
She is survived by her two children, Edwin, “Bubba” Boyd III (Kristin) and Rebekah Taylor (Rodney); Five grandchildren whom she adored, Cody Joe Gooding (Brandy), Dustin Gooding (Mary), Dalton Taylor (Abby), Zakary Banks (Krista), and Kole Taylor; Two step grandchildren, Kyle Coleman, and Kandy Moncada along with 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Shipman and Charlotte Nitz, along with a special friend, Colleen Banks.
She was loved and respected by many and well-known for being an amazing cook, which we all enjoyed for many years, until she no longer could. Our mother will be missed every day.
Funeral services for Patricia will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar.
Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility Activities Department.
