Patricia M. Brooner (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Patricia Margaret Brooner, daughter of O’Dell and Evelyn Musgraves, was born April 30, 1943, just outside of St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life, surrounded by those she loved, on Monday, November 26, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, six months, and twenty-seven days.
On January 31, 1969, she was united in marriage to Lyle Eugene Brooner, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-nine years, who she never stopped mourning, Lyle, on February 26, 2015; and a brother, Steven Musgraves.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Sharon Prince, and her husband, Shannon, of Lebanon, Missouri; a granddaughter, Shelby VanSickle, of Lebanon, Missouri; two step-children, John Brooner and Kathy Brooner, both of the State of California; several step-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Musgraves, and his wife, Joan, of Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Barbara Herndon, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in the St. Louis, Missouri area, and then moved with her family to Mesa, Arizona where she graduated from high school. After she and Lyle were married, they continued to make their home in Mesa, Arizona for many years, and lovingly raised their daughter. Patricia was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also owned and operated a craft store called “Crafting From the Heart” where she taught classes in painting plaster of Paris figures for many years. “Patty”, as she was called by Lyle, wanted her and Lyle to spend their golden years back in Missouri, so they moved to Lebanon in 2007.
Patricia had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Lebanon.
She was a proud member of the Lebanon Chapter of the American Red Cross and was involved in their fire response team for many years. She was a wonderful cook and always welcomed people into her home with a delicious meal and the most amazing iced tea. She would chat endlessly with anyone she met, and earned the nickname “Magpie”. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her daughter and granddaughter.
Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will remember her for her compassion and love. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
