Patricia Tripp's Obituary
On Saturday, January 14, 2012 Patricia Ann Todd Tripp was called to her heavenly home at the age of seventy-four years, eleven months and fourteen days. Daughter of Sam and Exie (Allphin) Todd, Patricia was born on January 28, 1935 in Lake City, Kansas. She grew up in the Cedar Gap area, with her sister and brother enjoying the country life on their family farm.
April 9, 1955 she was united in marriage to Elmer Ray Tripp and to this union a daughter and two sons were born. Following the couples marriage, they moved to Washington, then Indiana, and transferred to Arizona during Elmer’s time in the Service. In 1959, they moved back to Indiana and started their family. Pat and Elmer returned to Seymour in 1972 to raise their family.
Pat, as her family and friends called her, thrived in the community. She spent several years at the Sears store on the square. She was director of the Seymour Senior Center until her retirement in 2005, and was still serving on the board. Pat’s compassion for her neighbors has endeared her in the hearts of many.
She made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield First Assembly of God, faithfully serving our Lord, her family and community.
Pat embraced being a wife, mother, and grandmother and loved them well. She was proud of her family and dearly protective of them. She cared for them with a stern hand and an open heart. Her legacy lives on in each of them. She enjoyed the important things in life family, friends and time spent together. She was happiest when she could spoil her grandkids; they held a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of almost fifty-six years, Elmer Tripp; her parents; and her sister Doris Morton.
Pat leaves behind her daughter Donna Sue Tripp, of Lake Tahoe, California; her sons David Ray Tripp and wife , Pamela, of Macomb, Missouri, Douglas Todd Tripp and wife, Tanya, of Seymour, Missouri; five grandchildren, Douglas Ray Tripp and wife, Sumer, of Mansfield, Missouri, Allie Sue Tripp of Branson, Missouri, Roman Shane Tripp of Seymour, Missouri, Taylor Rayann Tripp of Macomb, Missouri, and Missy Street of Cabool, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Hannah Lynn Tripp, Haley Grace Tripp, Haven Ray Tripp, Mashyla Dawn Duke, and Kyanah Jo Duke; her brother John Todd and wife, Lula Belle, of Seymour, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
