Patsy Boothe (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Patsy Ruth Boothe, 88, passed away in her home in Hermitage, Missouri Monday morning, January 9, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1934 in Sikeston, Missouri to Wallace and Rose McGill.
On October 28, 1955, Patsy married Alex “Gene” Boothe and to this union two daughters, Regina “Jeannie” and Deborah “Debbie”, were born.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Gene Boothe, her sister, Barbara Davis, her brother, Richard McGill, and her daughter Debbie Boothe.
Patsy is survived by her daughter, Jeannie of Hermitage, Missouri; her six grandchildren, Chatelle MacLaren of the home, Eric (Kim) Geary of Bolivar, Patricia (Randy) Boswell of East Prairie, Missouri, Christina (Kyle) Thoele of Hermitage, James Boothe of Miller, and John Boothe of Bolivar; twenty-two great-grandchildren, Jamison, Alex M, Kayla, Nathan, Jonathan, Alex Y, Teva, Avery, Wesley, Bradley, Mariah, Zayne, Kyle, Dustin, Alex B, Hailey, Hunter, Choele, Aiden, Sophia, Danielle, and Bella; five great-great-grandchildren, Isaac, Dominic, Cobain, Lexi, and Christopher.
Patsy grew up in Caruthersville, Missouri and graduated from Caruthersville High School. She later attended Three Rivers Community College and earned her License in Practical Nursing. Later in her years she went to Southwest Baptist University and studied sociology and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She had many different jobs and adventures in her life including becoming and airplane pilot, race car driver, security guard, a nurse, emergency dispatcher, grocery store clerk, and was part of the Order of the Eastern Star. Patsy also had many hobbies to fill up her time as well. She loved to paint, draw, play the piano, music in general, photography, bird watching, gardening, bible study, and just about anything outdoors.
When she had free time she often volunteered it to organizations such as the American Red Cross, Dogs and Paws, Citizens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and the Bolivar Elementary Schools. Patsy was a wonderful person that loved her family, serving God, and of course her sweet dog, Molly. She lived a loving life serving God and the people in her community. We celebrate her life and all the many happy memories she created.
Services for Patsy will be Thursday, January 12, 2022 at the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Visitation will start at 1:00 P.M. and the funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions for Patsy may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association or to Four Legs and Fur in Hermitage, Missouri.
