Patsy J Gibson (Seymour)'s Obituary
Patsy Jane “Pat” Gibson, daughter of Isaac and Laura Fielding Williams, was born October 29, 1939 in Buckhorn, Arkansas and departed this life on May 2, 2018 in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, six months and three days.
On July 3, 1957 she was united in marriage to Jimmy “Hoot” Gibson, and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.
Pat is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Hoot, of the home; three daughters, Genia Rowe and husband, Faron, of Ava, Missouri, Shelley Nichols and husband, Mark, of Seymour, Missouri and Robin MacPherson and husband, Jason, of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; son, Rocky Gibson of Rogersville, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Drafton of Bentonville, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; a host of other relatives and many, many friends.
She was born and raised in Arkansas and graduated from Green County Tech in Paragould, Arkansas. After marriage, they went to Washington State where Hoot served in the United States Army. In 1959, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and on June 4, 1973, they moved to Seymour, Missouri where they have owned and operated Gibson Packing Company for over 45 years.
Pat had a made a profession of faith in Christ many years ago and was a member of the Seymour First Baptist Church. She also had served on the Board of Education for Seymour RII Schools.
In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.
Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and “Best Friend”, who was always there when you needed anything. We celebrate her life and will cherish the many wonderful times we had together.
