Patsy Johnson's Obituary
Patsy Ann Johnson, daughter of Leo Nelson and Anna Margaret Winner Volk Peckenpaugh, was born June 20, 1937, in Peoria, Illinois. She departed this life Monday, August 17, 2009, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, one month, and twenty-seven days. In 1955, she was united in marriage to William Don Rodden. On May 22, 1971, she married Kenneth Rayburn Johnson, and they shared the last thirty-eight years. She was preceded in death by her father; and two sisters, Judy Hall, and Barbara Bowers. Patsy is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; seven daughters, Irene Hargett, and her husband, Jerry, of Richland, Missouri, Maggie Lemery, and her husband, Bobby, of Lebanon, Missouri, Kathy Luttrell, and her husband, Richard, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Linda Rodden, and her husband, Dennis, of Richland, Missouri, Joan Krus, and her husband, Vic, of Sparland, Illinois, Teri Wyatt, and her husband, Greg, of Taiwan, and Angela Butler, and her husband, Paul, of Springfield, Missouri; a son, David Rodden, and his wife, Anita, of Lawton, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her mother, Anna Volk, of North Pekin, Illinois; two sisters, Kay Taylor, of North Pekin, Illinois, and Shirley Taghan, of East Peoria, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in East Peoria, Illinois, and then married William Don Rodden in 1955. After she and Kenneth were married, they made their home in Richland, Missouri for several years. In 1977, the family moved to Creve Coeur, Illinois, where they lived until returning to Lebanon in 1985. Throughout the years, Patsy was a devoted and hard working homemaker to her husband and family. Patsy had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Nazarene faith. She enjoyed watching movies, crocheting, making afghans for her children, and listening to game shows and country music. Her family was the center of her life and she enjoyed raising her children. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday August 21, 2009 at the Remmert Funeral Home in Illinois. Burial will be in the Fondalack Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday August 19, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Lebanon under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
