Patsy Winder-Lundry (Seymour)'s Obituary
On Tuesday morning, December 4, 2012, Patsy Darlene Winder-Lundry departed this world in South Cox Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, two months and twenty-nine days. Daughter of Ernest and Alpha (Brame) Sanders, Patsy was born September 5, 1934 in Van Buren of Carter County, Missouri.
She grew up in Ellington, Missouri, graduating from high school in 1952. Patsy married Jim I. Winder on August 2, 1952 and to this union two daughters and one son were born. The couple went to live in St. Louis, Missouri, but they settled down and raised their family in Fordland, Missouri. Family was at the center of Patsy’s heart and she was the center of theirs. After Jim’s passing in 1992, Patsy devoted her time to her family. She rekindled her friendship with her high school sweetheart Adrian Lundry and on July 17, 2004 they were united in marriage. The couple continued to reside in Fordland.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband of 39 years, Jim I. Winder; her brothers Larry (Sonny) Sanders and Howard Sanders; her sister Carol Southwick; and an infant grandchild, Nicky Sturdefant.
Patsy leaves behind her husband Adrian of the home; her children Sandra Kay Ashley and husband Jim of Seymour, Missouri, Jimmie Dale Winder and wife Mary Ann of Rogersville, Missouri, and Deborah Lynn Sturdefant and husband John of Seymour, Missouri; her two stepdaughters, Susan Lundry of St. Louis, Missouri, and Karen Muennig of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; her two grandsons Michael Sparkman of Seymour, Missouri and Steven Sparkman of Columbia, Missouri; her two step-grandsons, Peter Muennig of the State of Georgia and Paul Muennig of the State of Florida; her two sisters-in-law Linda Sanders of Seymour, Missouri and Ethel Sanders-Kuntz of Ellington, Missouri; as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.
A God fearing woman, Patsy was devoted to her Lord and humbly raised her children with unconditional love. She was a long standing member of the Fordland Free-Will Baptist Church. She lived out her faith with a kind and giving heart. She rejoiced in her labors, singing praise while doing her household chores. Her wonderful sense of humor helped her through the hard times in life, and she leaves a legacy of love and laughter behind for her family.
A loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend, Patsy Darlene Winder-Lundry will live on in our hearts. We will cherish the lessons learned, the love given, and the laughter shared. We rejoice in Patsy’s homecoming knowing the truth through our Lord Jesus Christ that we will meet again.
