Patty Joan Long (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Patty Joan Long, daughter of Myron Wallace and Gladys Hough Stake, was born June 7, 1927, in Springfield, Missouri.  She departed this life Friday, October 18, 2019, in Lake Regional Hospital, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety-two years, four months, and eleven days.
On September 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Billy Dean Long, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy, on December 23, 1986; a son-in-law, Jerry Hofman; a great-grandson, Billy Mustard; and two sisters, Dottie Watkins, and Sue Sturgil.
Patty is survived by a daughter, Karen Sue Hofman, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Kent Long, and his wife, Beth, of Lebanon, Missouri; five granddaughters, Amie Jackson, and her husband, Keith, Dana Jarrett, Sarah Witt, and her husband, Russ, Kara Johnson, and her husband, Greg, Kelli Mustard, and her husband, Chris; five great-grandsons, Adam Jackson, and his wife, Whitney, Gage Jarrett, Wesley Witt, Ethan Mustard, and Jace Johnson; two great-granddaughters, Savannah Jackson, and her fiancé, Austin Curry, and Erin Snyder, and her husband, Brad; two great-great-grandchildren, Keaton and Jackson Snyder; a brother, Tom Stake, and his wife, Deana, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was raised in the Lebanon area and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1945.  After she and Billy were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children.  Patty was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked as the Administration Secretary for the Lebanon R-III Schools.  Through the years, she served multiple superintendents as their personal secretary.
Patty professed her faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime active member of First United Methodist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed taking walks outdoors, playing bridge, and shopping.  She was an excellent cook and liked making special dishes for her family and friends.  She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Patty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend.  We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will hold the special memories she created for them in their heart forever.
Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital may be made through the funeral home.
