Paul Ervin Dutton, son of Elmer and Mabel Lovell Dutton, was born June 22, 1944, in Altus, Arkansas. He departed this life Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-six years, and sixteen days.
On July 15, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jewel Faye Bryant, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert and David; and a sister, Jean.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of almost fifty-nine years, Jewel, of the home; a son, Matthew Dutton, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Patricia Torpey, of Weidman, Michigan; five grandchildren, Nathan, Tatiana, Courtney, Caitlyn, and Cara; eight great-grandchildren, Nate, Genevieve, Madi, Oreana, Charlie, T.J., Logan, and Hudson; a sister, Naomi Bealer, of Van Buren, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Arkansas and then lived most of his life in Bettendorf, Iowa, where he graduated from high school. For the majority of his life he worked as an electrician, but his focus was faith and family. In 1985 while living in Bettendorf, Paul battled cancer. He survived and was cancer free for the remainder of his life. After he and Jewel were married, they made their home in Bettendorf, and lovingly raised their family. About eighteen years, ago, Paul and Jewel moved to Lebanon, Missouri and enjoyed their retirement years.
Paul was always very involved in the Assembly of God faith and was active in Lebanon First Assembly of God, where he served as a Deacon. His faith was very important to him and he centered his life around his church and his family.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, gardening, and playing golf. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime. We love you and will miss you.
A memorial has been established to First Assembly of God.
