Paul David Hughes, age 74 of Hartville, passed away at his home Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2018. He is survived by his wife Nancy Hughes; four children; David Hatch, Jessica Bumgarner, Rebecca Ward and Benjamin Hughes; 11 grandch Read Obituary
Paul, brought us joy, made us laugh and showed us love. He gave us the lasting gift of a beautiful life and blessed our memories forever. Paul’s mom an dad were so sweet to me as I grew up across the creek from Odin. Paul an I would sweep the mill after Mr. ROY would grind our cow food. Dear family Paul,was loved by everyone. Paul was such a nice man. I could just talk to him all day when he would come to get feed for his critters. I am so sorry for the families loss. We will keep his family in our prayers. It was a great shock to us to find out that he had passed. We will miss him.

Paul Hughes was my uncle. He taught me how to drive a tractor long before I could drive a car. He tickled me until I couldn’t breath ,he took me to the creek to swim and pushed me off the rope swing. He took me on top of the barn to nail shingles, gave me homemade ice cream in the summer and cut down a cedar tree for our family at Christmas. I hung from his back pockets, sat on his lap as he played cards and asked him a million questions, which he always patiently answered. If I have known a better man than Paul Hughes, I can’t think of who that might be. Paul Hughes was my uncle.
