Paul Coleman Lay (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Paul Coleman Lay was born June 10, 1945 in Kentucky to Frank Lay and Lillian Davis Lay. He passed away Monday evening, February 26, 2024 in Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of his passing, he was seventy-eight years, eight months and sixteen days of age.
He moved with his family to Illinois while in grade school and completed his schooling there. Following graduation, Paul started farming, raising hogs and also had row crops.
On June 9, 1996, he was united in marriage to Theresa McIntyre and they continued with the farming operation until Paul retired in 2012. It was then they relocated to Lebanon, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife Theresa; his brothers, Jeff Brown and his wife Nancy of Illinois, Walt Brown and his wife Ivy of Tennessee and Marty Brown and his wife Debbie of California; a sister, Emma Overton of Arkansas; his sisters-in-law, Sandra Martin and her husband Larry and Cindy Tucker and her husband Jim; his step-children, Lisa Finnell and Doug Butts; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
Paul enjoyed playing golf and played on a men’s softball league until he was in his late forties.
Above all, he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of his life and they loved their PaPa Paul very much in return.
Paul was a hard worker and devoted family man. As we remember our loved one, we celebrate the profound impact he had on our lives. May his memory serve as a comfort to us during this time of great loss.
