Paul Young (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ferrill Paul Young, son of Ferrell and Xie Rumbaugh Young, was born June 26, 1946, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, October 28, 2018, in the University of Missouri Hospital, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, four months, and two days.
On May 25, 1979, he was united in marriage to Connie Jo Rabe, and they shared the last thirty-nine years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Linda Lee.
Paul is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; four daughters, Shelly Newsome, and her husband, Greg, of Lake Mary, Florida, Carey Trevino, and her husband, Victor, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Paula Priester, and her husband, Jim, of St. Augustine, Florida, and Katie Travis, and her husband, Justin, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Erik Olson, and his wife, Janelle, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of grandchildren; three sisters, Leila Dolan, of Tucson, Arizona, Mary Rhoads, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Caroline Young, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. He then made his home in Waterloo, Iowa for fifteen years, where he worked for the John Deere Company. In 1979, he returned to Lebanon and worked for Detroit Tool for thirty years. After he and Connie were married, they made their home in Lebanon and lovingly raised their family.
He enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were floating, hunting, and fishing. He loved the simple things in life. He was very fond of his dog, “Skippy”. His family was very dear to him and he especially enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
No services are planned at this time but arrangements are under the care and direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
