Paula Routh (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Paula Sue Routh 63, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
Paula was born in Pierre, South Dakota, on October 4, 1959, to Paul and Marcene Steffens. She graduated from Humansville High School in 1978. She met Gary in 1980, they were married October 4, 1985, and shared 37 years together. She was employed at The State of Missouri as a Case Worker for 35 years.
She enjoyed traveling with her family, going to the casino, watching her children and grandchildren play sports and watching the Cardinals. She later developed a love for the game of golf which she enjoyed playing with her family and the girls. She loved the outdoors, walking on trails and riding her bike. Paula never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone, always seeing the best in people. Paula had the kindest heart and would do anything for anyone.
She also loved her community and worked hard to make it a better place. Paula was the most positive and outgoing person, always willing to try something new, always up for an adventure at any time. Anyone who knew Paula would tell you she is the sweetest, nicest, most giving person in the world. We could go on and on about how kind, generous, loving and giving she was, but we would be here all day. If you were lucky enough to know her, you understand. There are not enough words.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marcene Steffens, and her sister Debbie Kremer.
Paula is survived by her husband, Gary Routh; her children, Neil Routh (Aundrea) and Lyndie Wheat (Ryan); grandsons Blaine and Bryant Routh; granddaughter Andie Wheat; siblings, Joe Steffens, Gary Steffens, Mike Steffens (Mayra), and Linda Andrews, and a host of many nieces, and nephews.
