Pauline J. Davis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Pauline Joyce Davis, daughter of Vernon and Gladys Goldsmith Skinner, was born March 21, 1931, in Grayville, Illinois. She departed this life Thursday, April 28, 2016, in Strafford Care Center, in Strafford, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, one month, and seven days.
On October 19, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald Clay Davis, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald, on September 19, 2009; two brothers, Bob and Jerry Skinner; and four sisters, Laverne Luttrell, Delores Gale, Marilyn Walker, and Leah Elam.
Pauline is survived by a daughter, Donna Haney, and her husband, Scott, of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sons, Philip Davis, and his wife, Sherell, of Kearney, Missouri, and Michael Davis, of Denver, Colorado; five grandchildren, Crystal, William, Leah, Evi, and Wes; four great-grandchildren, Charis, Alex, Colton, and Kyla; a brother, Don Skinner, of Bluffton, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Paris, Illinois, and graduated from Paris High School. After she and Donald were married, they made their home in Arizona for a few years, and before moving to Kansas. They lived for many years in the DeSoto, Kansas area where Pauline was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. In 1996, she and Donald retired to Lebanon, Missouri.
Pauline was an active member of the Jaycee Jaynes, the lady Jaycee organization, for many years. She enjoyed gardening and traveling and liked making a home for her family. She possessed a kind and positive spirit and was always steadfast in her convictions. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pauline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during eighty-five years.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, and left at the funeral home.
